Mother Teresa
Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu also known as Mother Teresa of Calcutta is known to be one of the most influential women who has changed the world. She was born in Skopje, Yugoslavia on the 27th of August 1910 into an Albania family where she was the youngest out of her five siblings. At a young age, Mother Teresa felt a calling from God to helping the poorest of the poor and the age of 18, Mother Teresa had pursued her calling by joining the Sisters of Loreto which is a religious community located in Dublin, Ireland in 1928. In 1928 she had moved to India with other sisters of Loreto and began her work by teaching at St Mary's High School in Calcutta for 15 years.
Mother Teresa then died at the age of 87 in Calcutta, India on the 5th of September 1997. She dedicated most her life serving God by helping the poorest of the poor and the ill. Due to her hard work and dedication, Mother Teresa had received the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1979 and was then beautified by Pope John Paul the second after her death.
